Kishk (dried wheat fermented milk) is a popular dish here in Lebanon and it’s perfect for cold weather!
I recently discovered that Michael (the baby in my kitchen😊) loves it! So, I never miss a chance to prepare it especially that it’s so easy to make.
◇ 250g of ground beef.
◇ 1 whole garlic head peeled and cut into half.
◇ 1 and a half cup of kishk.
◇ 6 cups of water (less or more).
◇ 1 tsp of salt.
◇ Sprinkle of pepper.
◇ Sprinkle of cinnamon.
◇ Place the ground beef in a sauce pan with the seasonings and leave it until well done. Then, add the cut garlic and mix for 1 minute. Then, add the cup of kishk and whisk them all together.
◇ Add the water to the mixture in the sauce pan, one cup at a time all the while mixing them. If you feel that the mixture is getting dry while cooking, you can always add some more water. Leave to boil on high heat for 5 mins and then on low heat for 30 mins. Don’t forget to stir from time to time.
This dish is better served hot with some toasted pita on the side.
